Eagle Field Fly-In Events
1988-1989
More than 40 years after the completion of Eagle Field construction, variety of aircrafts and passionate aviators and fans gathered to this event, to mark another history.
On June 11 and 12, 1988, aviators and enthusiasts gathered at Eagle Field Airport for the Fly-In and Dinner Dance Event. This rare footage shows a variety of colorful aircraft and passionate aviators soaring in the sky over Eagle Field, more than 40 years after the completion of the construction. The hangars, built by dedicated and skilled workers years ago, are now filled with aviators and fans gathering and dining to celebrating the field's aviation legacy.

For this two-day fly-in event, 25 warbirds and a total of almost 50 planes drew over 500 attendees, who enjoyed the Saturday evening dinner dance, many of whom would remain for Sunday's flying activities. These attendees included flight instructors, former cadets, and others who were associated with Eagle Field during WW2. This event was indeed a platform for reunion and for creating new memories at this historically meaningful location.
Colorful, varied, and truly magnificent aircraft soared above Eagle Field that day, surrounded by the cheers and laughter of all those who joined the site to celebrate its legacy. Inside one of the hangars, tables and chairs were set to welcome guests for the social dance event.
