On Wednesday, staff at Eagle Field Airport provided assistance in managing a small fire that broke out on a neighboring property. Using on-site fire trucks maintained as part of Eagle Field’s historic equipment collection, team members worked to help slow the fire’s progress while waiting for the County Fire Department to arrive.
In response, Eagle Field staff mobilized available equipment and began basic containment efforts focused on redirecting the fire’s path away from housing.
The County Fire Department arrived shortly after and completed full containment and response. No injuries were reported, and property damage was minimal.
Eagle Field maintains a number of vintage and operational vehicles, including fire trucks, as part of its aviation and history programs. While not intended to replace emergency services, these resources can provide basic support in situations where response time may be a factor.
We are so proud of our staff at Eagle Field Airport for stepping up and helping out when it matters most. We know, community means working together and looking out for each other!!
